Hatherleigh (10 mins) is a charming market town steeped in history, with numerous ancient inns, shops and attractions. A must on market day!

Belstone (25 mins) - this tiny picturesque village with its common and abundance of ponies provides the nearest paths on to Dartmoor from Jake’s Retreat - see map page.

Meldon Reservoir (25 mins) - easily accessible paths lead from the reservoir car park providing splendid walks amid a backdrop of truly breathtaking scenery.
